Integrated rain sensor

The PARKSIDE robotic lawnmower is weather-controlled. This means that as soon as the integrated rain sensor detects a change in the weather, it automatically returns to the charging station. You can activate and deactivate the rain sensor in the settings.

Powerful, even on inclines

The robotic lawnmower can also cope with difficult terrain and does not shy away from slightly uneven ground. Inclines, gradients or slopes of up to 47% (25°) for the PAMRS 1000 A1 and PAMR 500 A1 and up to 27% (15°) for the PAMRC 250 A1 are no problem for it. The powerful rear-wheel drive makes it possible.

Ready for large areas

General questions

This is possible with the smart robotic lawnmower PAMRS 1000 A1. To do this, switch your router to 2.4 GHz. How you make this setting varies depending on your internet provider and router. Also make sure that Bluetooth® is activated on your smartphone and that you are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the robotic lawnmower. 

It is best to place the charging station in an easily accessible but sheltered location. The robotic lawnmower should be able to drive up to it easily and the charging station should be protected from extreme weather conditions. You can find even more information in the installation instructions supplied. 

We recommend that you do not let your robotic lawnmower mow in the rain. This may result in an unclean cut, unnecessary soiling of the device and significantly increased wear. All our robotic lawnmowers are therefore equipped with a rain sensor and automatically return to the charging station when it rains. If you want your robotic lawnmower to drive despite the rain, you can deactivate the rain sensor in the settings.  

The robotic lawnmower will only drive off independently if the following requirements are met:  

  • The battery must be fully charged 
  • The robotic lawnmower must be within its programmed time slot  
  • The ‘Start’ button must be pressed before the display cover is closed  
  • The signal from the boundary wire must be recognised by the robotic lawnmower 
  • The boundary wire connections on the charging station must be plugged into the correct polarity 

Only then is it time to go: Let's go! 
 

On the lawn! Because all robotic lawnmowers are ‘particle mowers’. This means that they do not have a collector, but the clippings remain as natural fertiliser and even help you to maintain your lawn. For this to work optimally, it is best to let your robotic lawnmower run at short intervals. Then it will only ever cut the tips of the blades of grass.

Yes, you can! All our robotic lawnmowers have sensors that recognise obstacles and reverse them in the event of a collision. Permanent obstacles, such as a tree, can be avoided with the boundary wire. Also make sure that the obstacles do not damage the wire. You can find more information in the installation instructions supplied. 

Our robotic lawnmowers can also handle slightly uneven terrain. However, there are limits: Inclines, gradients or slopes must not exceed 47% (25°) for the PAMRS 1000 A1 and PAMR 500 A1 models and up to 27% (15°) for the PAMRC 250 A1.

All our robotic lawnmowers are equipped with sensors to recognise obstacles and automatically stop and turn around. However, please always make sure that children and pets are not in the mowing area during operation.

Of course, you also want a well-tended lawn in autumn. But what happens to all the leaves? In principle, leaves do not harm your robotic lawnmower. However, if there are too many leaves or they are wet, the mowing process may not be as clean as usual. Because the blades are optimised for cutting grass, they also wear out more quickly. It's best to ensure a clear run first. 

Our robotic lawnmowers are very quiet. Nevertheless, we recommend that you only run them during the day to protect small nocturnal animals and to avoid disturbing your neighbours. 

In very winding gardens, you can improve the area performance by defining secondary starting points. You can select several starting points on the boundary wire. Your robotic lawnmower then covers the selected distance on the boundary wire and starts mowing in this (secondary) area. This allows it to reach areas of your garden that are difficult to access.

And this is how it works: You can choose five additional starting points. To do this, measure the distance between the charging station and the starting point in a clockwise direction along the boundary wire. You use the frequency in per cent to determine how often the robotic lawnmower starts its work from the charging station - or from a selected starting point. It then moves to the secondary starting points automatically during working hours and according to your individual schedule.

Boundary wire installation

The robotic lawnmower navigates independently through your garden by using sensors to orientate itself along a boundary wire. To mow your lawn efficiently, it recognises obstacles and adjusts its movements accordingly.  

Yes, the boundary wire defines the mowing area of your robotic lawnmower and helps it to recognise the lawn area to be mowed and find the charging station. You can easily lay the boundary wire along the edges of the lawn yourself. You can find more information in the installation instructions supplied. 

Lay the boundary wire along the edges of the lawn and secure it with the fastening hooks provided. Make sure that it is well secured everywhere and does not form any loops. Also check the connections of the boundary wire to the charging station for correct polarity. You can find more information in the installation instructions supplied.

This allows your robotic lawnmower to reach areas of your garden that are difficult to access. First check that the boundary wire has been laid correctly and is not damaged. Also check that the boundary wire connections on the charging station are plugged into the correct polarity. Then position the robotic lawnmower within the boundary and restart it. You can find more information in the installation instructions supplied. 

If you have properly surrounded your flower beds, trees, bushes and other protected areas with the boundary wire, they cannot be damaged or driven over by the robotic lawnmower.

If the boundary wire is damaged or incorrectly connected, the LED indicator on the charging station flashes green. Damage can be caused, for example, by stretching the wire too tightly or digging with a shovel. In regions where there is frost on the ground, sharp stones moving in the ground can also cause the cable to break. Mowing grass too low can also damage the cable insulation. Defective insulation can then lead to interruptions weeks or months later.

What can you do?  
Firstly, carry out a visual inspection for obvious damage. This is often enough to find and repair the interruption, especially with cables laid above ground.  

If you cannot see the damage, you can localise it using a perimeter wire tester, for example. Defective areas can then be repaired with a cable connector or a repair kit for robotic lawnmowers.  

To do this, connect the two open cable ends with the cable connector or use the repair kit for more extensive damage. You can obtain further information and the required material from our service centre. The spare part number for the repair kit is 91105165, for the cable connector 91105164. 

The quality of the signal depends on the quality of the cable used. Because our supplied cable is of a particularly high quality, we strongly recommend that you only use this cable. If you combine an existing cable installation with devices from other manufacturers, this can lead to irregularities or interference in the signal and severely impair the mowing performance. 

Care and maintenance

How often you let your robotic lawnmower work depends on the growth rate of your lawn and the size and complexity of the area to be mowed. Factors such as the amount of light, soil conditions, type of lawn and much more determine how quickly your lawn grows. You can find guide values in the operating instructions supplied under ‘Technical data’. You can then use schedules to customise your robotic lawnmower to your lawn and other conditions. 

Clean the robotic lawnmower and charging station regularly to achieve optimum performance and a long service life.

Step by step instructions: 

Robot lawn mower: 

  • Switch off the robotic lawnmower. 
  • Put on protective gloves. 
  • Turn the device over. 
  • Remove clippings with your hands, avoiding touching the blades. 
  • Use a hand brush to remove blades of grass from the underside, wheels, housing, etc. 
  • Check the charging contacts in the front area and clean them with a cloth if necessary. 
  • Turn the device over to remove the loosened grass clippings. 
  • Use a damp cloth and, if necessary, a mild soap solution to clean the housing. 

Note: Never clean the robotic lawnmower with a high-pressure cleaner or solvents.

Charging station: 

  • Disconnect the mains adapter. 
  • Remove grass, leaves, branches and other objects that could hinder docking. 
  • Use a damp cloth and, if necessary, a mild soap solution to clean the surface of the charging station.  
  • Check the charging contacts and clean them with a cloth if necessary. 

Note: Never clean the charging station with a high-pressure cleaner or solvents.

Regularly discharge the battery completely and only then charge it again to maximise its service life. Also store the robotic lawnmower and its battery in a dry place during the winter months. 

That depends on how often you use them. If you notice that the cut is no longer reliable or the blades are damaged, it's time for a change. As a rule, the service life is 1 to 2 months per 1000 m².

Your robotic lawnmower should not be left outside in winter. Frost and snow can damage the sensitive electronics. Protect your robotic lawnmower during the winter months by cleaning it thoroughly and finding a dry place where the robot and battery can be stored frost-free, at room temperature, normal humidity and protected from cold and moisture. Also make sure that the battery charge level is at least 40-60% to avoid deep discharge. In general, the robotic lawnmower should be stored at a continuous temperature below 7° C in a protected place.

Problem solutions

In the operating instructions, the chapters ‘Explanation of (status) messages on the display’ and ‘Troubleshooting’ show you a list of the most common error messages and what you can do to resolve them. If you cannot solve the problem with this help, please contact our service team. You will find the contact details after the FAQs.

  • Check that the boundary wire is correctly laid and connected. As a quick check, check that the LED on the charging station is permanently green. 
  • Also make sure that there are no obstacles blocking the robotic lawnmower.   
  • Check the battery: Is the battery charged? If not, charge it fully. 
  • Check the drive wheels, are they clean or blocked by grass and dirt? Clean if necessary. 
  • In the operating instructions, the chapters ‘Explanation of (status) messages on the display’ and ‘Troubleshooting’ show you a list of the most common error messages and how you can rectify them."
     
  • Check that the boundary wire is correctly laid and connected. 
  • Ensure that there are no obstacles in the path. 
  • Check the area around the charging station for sources of electrical interference, such as external power lines or electrical devices.  
  • In particular, the remainder of the boundary wire or the power supply cable must not be stored in a loop near the charging station. Any remnants of the boundary wire should be shortened accordingly and the power supply cable should be routed outwards to a non-critical location. 
  • Position the robotic lawnmower according to the installation instructions along the boundary wire with the appropriate length of wire in front of and behind the charging station.
  • You may have laid the boundary wire incorrectly. 
  • The robot does not have enough runtime to cover the entire area. 
  • Narrow passages or obstacles are blocking navigation. 
  • In very winding gardens, the area performance can be improved by setting secondary starting points. In this case, several starting points can be selected on the boundary wire. This allows the device to reach areas of your garden that are difficult to access. You can find more information under ‘Secondary area’ in the FAQs, in the operating instructions and installation instructions supplied.

Solution: Check the cable, adjust the schedule, install additional boundary wire or use the secondary areas function.
 

a) Clean the blade area and check the blades. Turn them round if they are blunt or replace them. Alternatively, we recommend setting the cutting height differently. In very angled gardens, the area performance can be improved by setting secondary starting points. In this case, several starting points can be selected on the boundary wire. This allows the device to reach areas of your garden that are difficult to access. You can find more information under ‘Secondary area’ in the FAQs, in the operating instructions and installation instructions supplied.

b) In most cases, an unclean mowing result is caused by insufficient operating times. Increase the daily/weekly operating time until the desired mowing result is achieved. The operating time table provided in the operating instructions can help you with this. You can usually see a change within 1 to 2 weeks. What else can you do? Clean the mower blades and check that they are sharp and undamaged. Make sure the lawn is not too high and remove any weeds that are too dense. If the mowing result still does not improve, please contact our service team with the following information:  

  • Size of the lawn 
  • Schedule setting of the robotic lawnmower 
  • Picture of the lawn 
  • Picture of the underside of the robotic lawnmower

The distance of the boundary wire may be too short. You can find more information in the installation instructions supplied.

Wait about three seconds or press the OK button (7) to enter the PIN again. If you enter an incorrect PIN three times in succession, the screen will be locked for 15 seconds. The lock time is doubled for each additional incorrect PIN. If you cannot remember the PIN, please contact our service team and we will help you. 

If you have forgotten the device PIN for your robotic lawnmower, you can look it up in the PARKSIDE app. Tap on the robotic lawnmower under ‘Your devices’ and scroll to the ‘Device settings’ heading. There you will find the item Device password. Then tap on the eye symbol to display the PIN.

In order for the robotic lawnmower to connect to your smartphone, you must ensure that you have activated the Bluetooth & localisation function on your smartphone and grant the PARKSIDE app access to it. This is a technical requirement, otherwise scanning for PARKSIDE devices will fail. Also make sure that your router supports 2.4Ghz WLAN. 

Your robotic lawnmower may only be connected to your smartphone via Bluetooth. The robotic lawnmower can therefore no longer receive commands from your smartphone from a greater distance. To control the device remotely, remove it from the app and add it again to connect it to your Wi-Fi.
