NECKARSULM, April 29, 2026 – The DIY brand PARKSIDE is the tool partner of HWA AG at the 24-Hour Race at the Nürburgring. PARKSIDE is equipping the HWA team, which is competing for the first time with the highly anticipated HWA EVO.R, based on the legendary Mercedes-Benz 190E 2.5-16 Evo II, with high-quality tools for the pit stops. This once again demonstrates the performance and quality of PARKSIDE products—even under the toughest conditions of professional motorsport.

An Icon in PARKSIDE Green

For over 30 years, PARKSIDE has stood for powerful products and the courage to tackle things yourself. The DIY brand is now expressing this promise with new support: PARKSIDE is cooperating with HWA AG, a specialist in high-performance vehicles that emerged from the former motorsport division of Mercedes-AMG and today realizes exclusive small series such as the HWA EVO.

As a result, the iconic Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Evo II is also returning to the racetrack as the HWA EVO.R: a motorsport milestone whose legend was forged in the early 90s. The vehicle shares this era with the PARKSIDE brand, which also began in this decade and has since developed into Europe's leading DIY brand.

Where Motorsport becomes Legend

The four drivers, Bruno Spengler, Peter Ludwig, Evald Holstad, and Christian Gebhardt, will contest several stints in the cockpit of the HWA EVO.R for PARKSIDE and HWA. They already completed their first successful appearance during the Nürburgring Qualifiers from April 17 to 19. The next outing will be at the major 24h Race at the Nürburgring (May 14–17). The centerpiece of the Nürburgring Endurance Series (NLS) is the legendary Nordschleife, which was once reverently baptized the "Green Hell". The asphalt winds for over 20 kilometers through the dense forests of the Hocheifel, demanding everything from man and machine. With 73 corners, extreme gradients of up to 17%, and an altitude difference of around 300 meters, it is considered the most demanding racetrack in the world. Nowhere else are triumph and technical limits so close together as in this "asphalt jungle".

PARKSIDE PERFORMANCE under extreme conditions

As part of the partnership, PARKSIDE is equipping the entire HWA team with PARKSIDE PERFORMANCE tools, which are used both during the setup and for pit stops during the race. Since the start of the NBR Qualifyer races, the PARKSIDE PERFORMANCE tools have demonstrated their capability under the tough conditions of the Nürburgring.

The HWA EVO.R starts entirely in the distinctive PARKSIDE green. The logo of the DIY brand defines the design of the high-performance vehicle. With this unmistakable look, the HWA EVO.R thus becomes the visual symbol of the famous “Green Hell,” where performance and tradition meet. Around 280,000 fans are expected at the Nürburgring for the 24h Race. PARKSIDE is using this environment for concise branding, prominently placing the logo on the highlight vehicle and the team equipment. To strengthen fan proximity, planned highlights such as VIP paddock tours for PARKSIDE customers are planned, creating a direct connection to the community.
